About CIMUN

Held annually at the American University in Cairo (AUC), Egypt, the Cairo International Model United Nations (CIMUN) celebrates its 26th session. What started out as the pillar of Political debate in AUC's Student Union, CIMUN grew to be the largest and the most prestigious model UN conference outside of North America. This year, with the theme 'Confronting Reality; Unmasking the Truth' our vision was for every council to debate issues and concerns, ones which have often been sidelined or concealed in order to achieve certain political agendas, effectively bringing them into the spotlight and attempting to resolve them.
Through our eight councils, hundreds of university students from Egypt and the rest of the world, will convene in the first week of April, 2014, and through interactive debating, will come up with resolutions to these issues while assuming the role of their respective delegations. We welcome students from all universities all over the world. Prior to their arrival in Cairo, all delegates will receive an online version of the delegates' guide, which includes our Rules of Procedure as well as the council background papers, in which the secretariats of the councils offer a comprehensive approach to their topics this year.
